Cartha Queens Park RFC
Cartha Queens Park are a community club founded in 1906 and located on the south side of Glasgow. The club play their home games at Dumbreck and are currently in Scottish Championship League A (West), the 3rd tier of Scottish club rugby.
The club runs four adult XVs catering for all abilities and levels of experience. At Dumbreck there is an impressive youth section catering for over 200 local children aged 5 to 17. The club also has a senior women's side currently competing in the Scottish Women's Premier League at Premier 2 level.
We have no designated feeder schools so we have work very hard at building relationships with many different schools, parents and children to build our youth section.
On-going improvements include:
- Work on the drainage of pitches so more children are able to play on a Sunday.
- Carry out work on the car park so that it doesn't flood and parent can park and come into the club house.
As everyone knows, getting parents to stay and support their children can be a difficult task, so we continue to improve our facilities to have a more welcoming atmosphere on a Sunday. (We recently purchased a good quality coffee machine so that parents will stay and chat!)
All the funds we raise go towards securing a future for Rugby in Glasgow and with help from Friends of Scottish Rugby we hope to give many children the opportunity to play the game we all enjoyed.
