Brechin Rugby was set up in 1995 and became a charity in 2015.

Our aim is to get as many people involved in rugby as possible, no matter their age, physical or mental impairments. Our members age from 5 - 85 and attend the lessons on a regular basis.

We have secured funding for disability classes and will be starting this shortly.

Our fees are very low, so that anyone can attend our classes. Prior to covid we subsidised around 25% of the children from the poorer area but now we are covering over 50% of the members fees. It has put a strain on the club's finances and we are looking at funding options to allow us to upgrade/maintain our club and allow everyone to still attend.

We really need ramps into our toilets & shower containers and have looked at the various types that would suit the project. We are starting the ADHD/Autistic rugby very soon and would ideally like the ramps in for then.

We do not charge a lot for our classes and are now covering a lot financially because of the rise in assisted memberships. There is no way we could afford to put these ramps in without funding help.

We want everyone to be able to attend our classes and feel safe knowing we have provided the best possible environment to support their needs.

Brechin Rugby Club kindly thanks Friends of Scottish Rugby for their much needed donation so we can provide disabled access to the club facilities in order to be a more inclusive club going forward.
